3rd in the 'Word Zone 2016' competition
In between the night and day,
The colours in the sky,
Are different to the colours all around.
She stands where the light is dull,
And looks out to a fiery sky.
She notices the changing sky through the
Thin branches of the forest trees.
She feels the warm air swirl around her simple dress.
She sees white, shimmering stars, begin to glow...
And she wonders what gives them their sparkle?
The trees lean in and the wind sounds
As if it whispers to her with a deep, gentle hum...
“Even though the bright,
Daytime sun, has gone away...
It still lends its light to the billions of stars,
To brighten, the night, for you.”
