Don’t judge books by covers, don’t me by mine.
My cover is firm and steady...not the same inside.
My pages are vandalised and my pages rotten,
Bent, torn, frayed, whole chapters forgotten.
Covers are always opened, it's a matter of time.
I can’t let you near my heart, I can't let it be broken.
So I built a wall around it, to trap the emotions,
But I let you open my cover, and to see inside my head.
You didn’t turn away or leave, you weren’t even scared.
Now my wall crumbling, breaking, my strongest defense corroding.
Eyes a pure blue-green lake,
A smile worth more than diamonds,
Whenever that gaze is upon me,
I can’t help but join in smiling.
A light in my world of dark and gloom,
A change in the usual routine,
Just as the sun goes behind the moon,
And highlights the natural beauty.
