I Am Fire

One by one I strike the trees,
Unmerciful yet respected.
I squeeze the life out of the charred wood,
My heart burning brightly within
A golden flame.
I slither through the dry grasses,
As fast as a snake,
And I remain, unchallenged,
Ablaze in the cold night sky.
I raise my fiery wings,
Majestic as the eagle -
And I hear the screams and broken dreams,
As I destroy and ravage the world,
They scream my name in agony;
I reassert my immortal throne,
I snatch my crown with burning hands,
Prepare yourself, for the conquering;
the dominance that is yet to come;
For I am Fire.
