Dear gumtree you provide us with air
And when we need shade you are always there
You sit there in silence like your many tree brothers
Your trunk is a home
Your seeds create others

You exist for one purpose
To keep us alive
And without you we would not survive
You are the best not second, nor third
Old gumtree, dear gumtree you say not a word

No one would ever doubt your existence
Your trunk itself has a great resistance
You hold life within this world

Your praises I will always sing
Gum tree you protect everything
