Originating in the Land of the Rising Sun,
A style of martial arts, had begun
A range of movements faster than a wink
Before your enemy can act, or even think

Karate can be movements, in perfect sync
Or it can be sparing, until your face turns pink
Whether it’s kumite or kata, or even grappling
Your perfection should always be increasing

My goal is to be a black belt, to be so wise
To find no pride in my rival’s despise
I’ll never give up, even when the chances are low
I know I will always give it my best go

My goal will take me years to succeed,
Whether I am hurt, or if I bleed
I will have to keep going if I want to receive
The black belt, the goal that I will achieve
