You’re a wide expanse of blue,
A sure promise of peace,
You certainly did not make,
Day and night,
Foaming away on the shores in spite,
Lo! This is life,
Raging war against the wind,
Tsunamis and floods,
A typhoon and whirlwind,
My darling- you hurt with no guilt,
Inflicting pain,
Ruining and ripping,
Cutting and killing,
Corrupting my buoyancy,
Oh, I am just a little boat,
Merely trying to stay afloat.
