To begin with, it was purely
To improve the life of man
But came a day, where we have paid
For their greed, so out of hand
We had seen the path they'd offered us
But to have taken it, we were wrong
At the end of the line, it was souls like mine
They hadn't needed later on
For when the jobs of man were taken
By none other than machine
Though many a people had profited
In the end, short-lived, it'd been
Victim to greed, we were
And paid most dearly for that, have we
So I guess there was only ever us to blame
For the second chance there'll never be
