Pain beyond pain, worse that a knife
A pang so dreadful that neither doctor nor nurse could fix it
The bitter cold bites into you
You neither notice nor care
Even the warmest most luxurious place on earth would make no change
Your eyes are blurred and unseeing
You choke, spluttering, your chest throbbing
A hot trickle rolls down your face
You haven’t an urge to brush it away
You just let it rest there burning your cheek
Hotter than the hottest flame
Move on they say but you can’t
They don’t understand, no one does but you
