‘Happy Little Clown’
Paint a smile on my face pretending I’m ok,
Children seem to laugh while I suffer in pain,
Just forget it’s in the past, just let your feelings fade,
It’s like I am a clown just fake it ‘til it goes away.
It’s just an illusion, I’m lying to your face,
I’m not that happy man you know during the day,
You think I’m all jolly, well I’ve got some news,
I’m not that happy little clown you thought you knew.
Don’t talk back, just make ‘em laugh, convert your pain right into cash,
Pills are red, medicine’s pink, but the soul is pure black,
Fake a smile, for a while, just keep up this little act,
It goes away with the paint, but then it comes back.
Just an illusion I’m lying to your face,
I’m not that happy man you know during the day,
You think I’m all jolly, well I’ve got some news,
I’m not that happy little clown you thought you knew.
