We are not living machines,
Emotionless, rigid. Nor feeling pain.
Eyes unseeing, not breathing,
A computerized left brain.
Our skin is not paper,
Do not slice or cut it.
It isn’t made of steel,
There are so many other options, don’t quit.
You are allowed to cry,
Your tears aren’t labelled as weak.
You’ve been strong for too long,
Let those signs of strength run down your cheek.
Take good care of yourself from now on,
Be happy to be alive,
Those emotions make you who you are.
Live well, and just thrive.
