The gun shot fires that deafening sound
Cold and dead soldiers lay still on the ground
Under the dirt is where they will stay
We stand in silence on Remembrance Day
Poppies grow where many lost blood
Through the trenches and over mud
Bullets pass close and near
Terrified soldiers scream with fear
30 million altogether died
They went in the war without fright
Because of their service families were torn
And they weren’t there to see new ones born
We thank them for their duty and
Lest We Forget.
