Finalist in the 'Spread The Word 2017' competition
Dropping gingerly and gently from the bruised sky,
Bibbling slowly in streams over the cracked parched earth,
Lapping tenderly against the worn, weathered tugboat,
Sweeping lightly under the looming ancient, red gums,
Gushing vigorously under the faded swelling scarlet door,
Plunging and splintering timber in its murky brown clutch,
Surging forcefully through filthy, rusting grimy gutters,
Thundering violently into weather beaten steel foundations,
Roaring ferociously onto sodden crumbling dirt tracks,
Tearing massive boulders from steep, craggy cliff faces,
Soothed and slowed by the calming hand of the river below,
The cycle of life rebirths and begins anew.
