En Mi Corazón

I once found an angel who was searching for love,
So I offered my heart,
The happiness burst like beautiful fireworks.

I found a piece of me that was missing,
For the first time I felt whole,
You were my moonlight that shone every night,
That kept me safe whenever I felt fear.

When thoughts had burdened my mind,
Your warmth whispered that everything was going to be alright,
The comfort of silence together, I knew I was finally home.

Then, as time went by our days became cold as ice,
Things didn’t feel the same anymore,
Was your love fading away?
You thanked me for my love, I didn’t know why,
I held back the tears in my eyes as you said goodbye,
Fumbling through the confusion that was an ending I wasn’t ready for.
