You And Me

I felt your warmth reach me when we first met
Your embrace was soft and melted my heart.
This feeling was much too hard to forget
You’re filled with colours, you’re a work of art.

You are the daytime and I am the night.
You never faded and were always there.
You reached my hand and dragged me to the light
The way you entranced me just wasn’t fair.

I fell for you like crimson Autumn leaves.
I’ve never been so caught up with someone.
The lock to my heart, you had the keys
And just like that I had become undone.

Our journey together has nearly come to an end
Our intertwined memories, we were more than just friends.
Through this we’ve both learned to love; to trust
I just wanted to say, Thank you for being us.
