A Gift From The Sea

The gift from the sea...
I was walking on the beach,
when I see something glittering in the sun,
It was like a star sending rays out,
slowly walking towards it,
I see it’s a shining shell.
I pick it up delicately as if it was a newborn child.
I look at it more carefully,
A simple gift from the sea.
I look over at the waves and see that they are sparkling,
as if it was happy,
I smile back and thank the sea for such a wonderful present,
A present I will keep forever,
A gift from the sea.
