In the solitude of the night,
Long after the day’s last light,
I stumbled upon a befuddling sight,
I tumbled back in sheer fright.
Two green eyes shone bright,
They soon disappeared into the night,
A caterwauling, that sounded like a fight,
Flew into the night as if it were a kite.
I started to ponder, what could have given me such a fright,
I hope that it does not bite,
What an unusual plight,
I hope I will be all right.
I realised that two cats were participating in a fight,
As I opened the door, it let in light,
And two cats wandered in, without invite.
That was the highlight of my night.
