Snow
The chilling cold conquers my dwelling
Soft works of art settle on my windowsill
Frost growing like beans in spring
Branching out like a flat willow tree
Outside, one hundred snowmen stand like an army of warriors
Elated children glide gracefully on ice
Snowflakes descend, twirling like a ballerina
A picture stirred in my mind; her warm licks and glossy white fur
The big hugs she gives me after the game of fetch
Bella never leaves me, and I’ll never leave her
