Excellence Award in the 'Spread The Word 2017' competition
In a thunderous applause of meeting
Withered boughs flourish and invigorate.
Vines twisting, cascading up towards the canopy
Catching every splattering clap; drinking.
Swollen aged shapes above deposit their days,
Before drifting on and dissipating.
Ahead are rusted reds and browns,
Behind they leave the greens of prosperity,
And with them, they chaperone the rain.
