Dressed handsomely in black and white
Coat shining wonderfully in the sun
Slivery whiskers sticking out
White under-belly soft as silk
Slowly creeping across the yard
Chasing rodents and little lizards
Awkwardly walking along back fences
Disappearing in dark, green hedges
Cuddling up to me by silent night
Lying comfortably on blankets
Taking refuge under cosy beds
Sleeping peacefully beside my head
