Down in the meadow, pink and blue,
Intertwined two young souls true.
Giggling and beaming, they adorn clumsy daisy crowns,
Before they skip back home ere bittersweet sundown.
Leaves of gold and bronze scattered far and few,
Beneath rain laden branches murmured futures brew.
Grass sodden and trampled in murky shades of brown,
Free spirits run wild in their misty ghost town.
Though their years together may one day expend,
No true friendships meet their end.
