Never Ending Heartbeat

Watching the waves crash and then rise again was like listening to a never ending heartbeat,
It flows at a constant pattern, which is sometimes unrecognizable,
But if you learn to stop and listen for only a couple minutes then you can hear it,
It's not strong like the sound of a car engine being started for the first time,
Or faint like the sound of a coin being dropped on the wooden floor,
But both, it doesn't have a certified sound or pattern, it's not obtainable,
It slows down when it wants, and speeds up when it doesn't,
It's not controllable, it's sometimes hypnotic, just stopping to listen,
It’s relaxing to know when you are still going on,
But it's troubling when you aren't,
But it has trust in you as you know when it's the right time to start,
And when to stop.
