It was a hot summer day
On the warm green grass, I lay
I saw paper planes flying away
I asked Mum what day it is in a lazy way
Mum said, “It is a beautiful Sunday.”
I asked Dad if I can play
Dad said, "Go away!"
I saw an ice-cream van not far away
I ran to it and said, "How could I pay?"
"Card not available but cash only today"
It was a hot summer day not May
Lots of people go to the bay
But under the tree I lay
Under the tree I play!
