‘Til the deserts rest and ‘til dawn shall rise,
Her mind calm as the world goes insane,
Falling on them, the scared and tired eyes,
Awaiting a sign to end this grown pain.
The shadows waltz and sway with tiny hands,
Offering the unknown a peaceful light,
The silent voices echo through these lands,
To dampen the truths of tomorrow’s fight.
No harm will grip the hairs of the young,
To no child wrapped in rages of war,
May enemies lay down their gun,
For peace lies behind this broken down door.
May we exchange hands and bow our scarred knees,
The memories of war running like a sea.
