As I am dancing on the open stage
I am not just twirling, I must engage
Spectators are watching my every move
I criticize myself and force to improve
My toes cramp as I dance on top of them
My feet are my roots and my body, my stem
They say a perfect dancer shows no pain
But underneath her shoes, you can't see the blood stain
Yes, to dance you must constantly commit
But there’s one thing that always gets me through it
It’s the outstanding feeling that hits me
When I step on that stage and I’m free
The emotions flood into my body
The bright white lights radiate onto me
I forget everything and pour my heart out
Well to me, that is all dancing is about
