Emma walked onto the beach, sand wedged between her little toes thinking only of the ocean, her special place,
big and small sea creatures, sea shells, gifts from the beautiful ocean.
She felt the soft warm sand as the salty sea breeze blew in her hair.
She saw the crystal clear waves crashing on the sandy shore.
endless white horses completing their run
salty water wafted through the air, the sun, a ball of comforting warmth.
Emma heard people laughing and splashing in the cool water.
Through narrowed eyes she watched each wave overlap one another,
sending white fluffy bubbles across the sandy shore.
When the sun set, the words repeated in her mind
“Red at night, Sailors’ delight”
she walked up the nearest exit of the beach to go home,
sand brushing off her feet
Back to reality.
