Remember the battle
We all stood in lines
Scared but unwilling
To show fearful signs
All thinking of loved ones
At home and alone
Missing their fathers
In places unknown
In underground tunnels
Within zones of war
Holding machine guns
They've not fired before
But we are at home now
The battle is done
Some didn't survive
But in hearts they have won
