Three stand tall, golden crowns tilted towards the sun.
Their weight balanced precariously on shaking stems.
Eye of an unnatural predator, simply one,
Glares, watchfully as the tall foundation bends.
Running swiftly the predator approaches, flailing arms
In front of the ivory kings which are relentless in their reign
And refuse to bow and forfeit their green throne’s charms
As the predator growls, grumbles and gloats in vain.
Come gale or storm the rulers hold steadfast to the pillars
Of riches beneath their feet, which had been sown by
Unnatural predator, who sees the feather clad kings as killers,
Which feed on the corpses of the yellow riches in the sky.
Oh unnatural predator; creator of the yellow riches, father of
The plant he nurtured from seed, is but simply one. Simply one,
The three kings taunt and fly to the sky above
To evade the humble gardener, once the sunflowers are done.
