It’s happened again.
It’s the eighteenth time this year, in February.
Will the gunshots end,
When it happens again?
They will give you their prayers,
Their messages and posts.
But in a week you will be lost,
And it will happen again.
When will you demand they hear you?
When will this be untaught?
What could you possibly talk about,
When they won’t even spare you a thought?
Scream louder, fight harder,
And it will not happen again.
Be the change you need to see in the world,
And there will be justice for our fallen friends.
