A Ghost In The Night

The Moon is shining pale and bright
There's not a single star in sight
Out in the cold I watch in awe
The most amazing sight I ever saw
A dancing figure of purest white
A horse that shimmered in the light
I held my breath and still I stood
And then it came as close as it could
In it breathed then out with a snort
As if I hadn't showered what a thought!
It walked away then turned to bow
And as it did I wondered how
A horse like that could be as pale and white
As pale and white as a ghost in the night.
