There I stand,
On the library steps,
Watching the sky leak
Onto the fake grass
Watching the fake grass swell with H2O
Listening to the distant hum of peoples voices,
Watching the sky droplets grow,
Into a puddle
So still
So quiet
Until the librarian stomps on its fragile layer
And makes the water splash
and soak up into the toes of my socks.
this is why
on a rainy day
to NEVER stand on the library steps
