I told her I was homesick for a place I hadn’t been.
Like an olympian to a starting pistol,
the trigger was pulled.
Words like liquid gold spilled from her mouth.
Eager eyes of azure blue twitched at the sound.
She told me it's the small things that count.
It's the skies of stainless blue, a drizzling rain and the hum of stars in unison.
Its crystalized salt on the skin after seawater hits your body.
Its double decker buses, unexpected compliments and good books.
I act like she’s wrong in the mind,
but I know she only tells truth.
For I’m the adult, worn at the bone.
Her eyes are still stary and bright,
remind me what it's like.
Don’t waste your time she said,
What you're looking for is right here.
