The Falcon

The falcon lies in waiting
Observing its prey
Its unkempt feathers keeping it concealed
In the nearby stony cliffs.
Its feet are dirty and aching in pain
Its mottled feathers in disorder
Its senses worn down by the constant
Howling of the jade sea before it.
It aches in hunger
And pain
And it falls
Like lightning
Short
And fast.
