How is it that my life is dead?
I disperse all my joy and withhold all my grief, yet somehow, someway, sadness and despair find a route back to me.
If only I could cease to exist, for even just an abbreviated moment, maybe then I could comprehend what it’s like to be recognized as a value to our society,
I have consistently wondered why I continuously strive to compare my beauty, my knowledge, and my life to those who have never once willingly sacrificed and I still manage to lack it all,
So why must I religiously push myself to something I know is near impossible?
I do it because one day I can tell myself: That way I know I still tried, at least I had the perseverance to go the extra mile that might kill me, well maybe not kill me but who’s to say it won’t wound me,
Disappearing may not be the best exposition, but then I know I did my best,
I may not be the most attractive, the most brilliant or the most successful person in the world,
However, I’m me, and that’s more than enough in my books, and if it’s not in yours, you’ve got the wrong chapter,
If others don’t like me then they need to re-evaluate their life choices,
Because such things can only stem from internal struggles,
I like me and even if you don’t, there’s someone out there who does,
And that’s when I blinked, looked up, and saw someone, a girl, rather beautiful… crying,
She was sitting there staring straight at me, her bright eyes twinkling like stars dusted with diamonds, tears dripping from her opalescent face,
It didn’t take long for me distinguish this girl,
I was gazing at a mirror this whole time.
