Darkness. It’s the only thing that I can see around me. The pain grows more and more when I keep thinking about it. The tears keep streaming down my face. This has gone on too long and I don’t know how to make it stop. I wince as I adjust my position. The sound of his footsteps coming up the stairs. I know that if I hide he will find me and the pain would feel a lot worst. The door swings open as he lets in the light. I do nothing as I wait for him to stare daggers at me. He pulls me up and starts to scream in my ear.
“Why are you trying to hide from me, you know that I can find you”
He slaps me across the face. I say nothing. He pushes me on the ground and walks out.
I sit there, feeling my face start to sting from the touch. Bruises and cuts cover my body like battle scars. As I look down towards my stomach, I realised that the biggest wound that he left was his child.
