One day, Keesha and Emily were playing on the swings together. Then it started to rain.
“Oh no, it’s my horse race tomorrow!’’ cried Keesha.
Emily patted her on the back and said “I’ll show you”. Emily took her to the GIANT stadium.
It was dark and gloomy outside.
“I can’t see anything. It’s too dark to ride” said Emily. Keesha frowned. Then she started to cry, until she got into bed.
The next day, Emily was sick so she couldn’t teach Keesha how to ride a horse.
“Good morning Emily” said Keesha merrily. She saw Emily with a red nose. Keesha walked out of the room disappointedly She put on her sisters gear and set off.
Five racers were waiting at the line. Keesha was ready for the race. Thirty-five people were cheering on her best friend, Ben. He had won three trophies.
“I can do this” Keesha said bravely. She started her horse and smiled at Emily in the crowd with mum. Keesha’s heart was beating loudly but she was at least in fourth place. Keesha went faster and faster until she was in second place. But… she saw Ben in front like a champ. Keesha gathered speed and haste, she managed to pass Ben. And Keesha crossed the line in first place!
The other racers ran up to her to lift her up and Emily felt better just watching it!
Keesha felt proud and happy. She won a big shiny cup and went home in tears of joy.
