Fish dance in gum leaves.
The sun rises, falls,
Sure as day.

The indescribable elephant
Who holds the world.
Mr Petty Popper the painter dead in a gutter.
A god-shaped hole.
Births, deaths, constant beat of heart, the steady breath
of earth.

Time stops with no watch,
My old friend the world,
No one knows his name.

The expedition,
Burning fire deep in stomachs,
Un-quenchable thirst,
For an answer.
