1915 25th April
My husband is going to Gallipoli
It’s daunting the fact I may never see him again
I know he’s doing this for our country and freedom
He’s been gone for at least a week and I’m already panicking
Who knows if he’s passed or alive
Three years later they’re back
So many disappointed faces
Almost all the soldiers didn’t come back
Wives and children in tears as loved ones didn’t return
For I was unlucky too
He did not come back
Poppy’s grow where they fought to remember them
Lest we forget
