It stares at me in black and white,
And I stare back with dread and fright.
I think and think to no avail,
My senses frail, I’m sure I’ll fail.
My mind explores imagination,
Chased by fears of condemnation.
Ah, the light! The tunnel’s end,
I seem to now have time in hand.
But such is life! More strings and strings,
Of words which warp 'round mental rings.
I try to clear my swimming mind,
As questions leave me far behind.
Suddenly, a brainwave sparks,
And pen to paper scribbling starts.
A race to the finish, the tunnel ends,
The job is done, I’ve made amends.
