Never Give Up

My emotions run wild,
As I step into the spotlight, My heartbeat hammering in my head.
My pointed shoes are shaking,
With nervousness and fear, Any second I was going to faint.
I turn my back to the crowd,
Giving up on everything, Hoping it would all just end.
Then I hear the crowd cheering,
All my feelings disappear, Now is my time to shine.
So I lift my head,
Wipe the tears off my eyes, And show them what I can do.
Roses are thrown,
As I bow to my friends, Smiles on all of their faces.
The curtains close,
With one lesson learnt, A lesson worth more than it sounds.
To never give up,
Never give up, Until your show is complete.
