After tearing her paper heart right down the middle,
They somehow get themselves out of the mud with words of charm,
After disease has started filling the cracks,
Growing roots and spurting life as it takes away hers,
As they threaten to make the buildings crash down,
and tear her tiny heart to bits.
But it’s time to throw it out.
Become heartless.
Until she has the energy to buy more paper and some scissors,
And cut out another heart,
And stick it back in her chest,
To start anew,
And move on
