I Am A Turtle

I am an imaginative turtle that likes the rain.
I wonder what it’s like to be human.
I hear the raindrops on the windowsill.
I see the raindrops racing each other on the window.
I want to know what it’s like to be human.
I pretend to be human.
I feel the raindrops through the window.
I touch them as they run down the glass.
I worry about being set free.
I cry when I think of the idea.
I understand I’ll be set free soon.
I say to my owners that I belong with them.
I dream about what is going to happen next in my life.
I try to persuade my owners not to set me free.
I hope my bond with them doesn't break.
I am an imaginative turtle that likes the rain.
