Excellence Award in the 'Write Along 2018' competition

I opened my recipe book,
"A" scampered away.
Now my book doesn't make sense
Because "A" wanted to play.

The words are transforming,
Oh, what can I do?
STEAM is now STEM,
Is this really true?

GRAIN's changing to GRIN
Quick! I cannot delay,
I need my alphabet trap
To stop this runaway!

I caught letter "A" and
Thrust it in the book.
My recipes are back
And now I can cook!
