Closer comes the Sea of red
I know deep in my mind Sacrifice will be spread
As the dense, wooden boat comes nearer
The future for me and these innocent soldiers became clearer
My boots made me feel taller and my gun made me feel stronger
But no matter how strong I felt I knew I wouldn’t be here much longer
I listen to the crunch of the rocks as I sprint up the hill
As soon as I reach the top I have to be ready to kill
I hear my Wife and family call my name
The spirit inside me is now filled like an eternal flame
My mind tried to track where the sound was from
While searching my heart was beating like a compelling drum
Familiar faces caught my rich blue eye
It was my wife and my family both looking at me about to cry
Lest We Forget I said
Those who have died should not be known as dead
