My Background Life
By Matthew Rich
I walked those uneven boiling tar roads scavenging for any left food
lying and thieving to survive. Trying to goad people into a fight,
thinking they will QUIT and give me something in return, but a punch back is what I learned.
My stomach was growling, as I looked in the empty cupboard everyday…
And now I’m frowning, I watch my parents fight!
Everyday - there’s blood everywhere my life is like a horror movie.
I run out into the night, my brother takes the lead
holding our little sister, we’re all in so much dread.
My siblings and I have been removed a HUNDRED times
addicted to drugs is mum, partying every night.
Too many gang bangers and thugsmy mum and dad are never around
but that’s … okay. The almighty God has saved me from mind torture and fear,
I live in happiness with my father in Christ always beside me.
I have no pain to bear…And yes, I miss my mum and dad, but I met a friend named Christian I’m on track now with pray.
My grandparents look after meI’m in care now as I’m brain damaged.
