'Waves of Heartbreak'
There's never been a time you've struggled to hold my gaze
Afraid to speak the hidden truth, secrets passed on to another, never to be heard
Deep brown eyes, a reflection of yours
With salted dried up tears, wept every night you left to light a cigarette or two, never to return
Times I've drowned in the depths of my emotions, lost myself within the high tides
Held under by waves bigger than I, over and over
Found myself caught adrift in rememiniscence
Swept by the strengths from the undertow of disappointment
I've learnt to tread water, stand taller, when the tide is low like my soul
Forgiving you is somehow my greatest ambition, Father
Saying "I love you," to never speaking another word, has been the hardest transition
Waves of Heartbreak flow through in sets of three stages
Hurt, Hatred, Forgiveness
I'm on my way to recovery
From the never ending sets of waves you have left upon me
