Excellence Award in the 'Write Along 2018' competition
At the rising sun, creatures foul amass,
With but one purpose; to harass.
The colour red stains their hide,
Feeding of lies, deep anger they bide.
They respect one with such loyalty,
The consequence: they shall have no humanity.
They wait for a signal, for the chance to leap,
For the chance of a life to reap,
To take up sticks and to beat.
The innocent scream: 'Oh what a cruel feat!'
They take up arms to destroy so happily,
Their own cultural identity.
Though who can blame them for this sin,
When they were separated from those they called kin
And brainwashed by a figure so prominent;
Creating a cult unable to be stifled by its own government
