Barred windows and locked doors

I remeber when we were younger
How we longed to be free
We wanted to be alive
But all the windows had bars and all the doors were locked
I remember when we got a little older
And i rember how hard we fought
But all the windows were still barred and the doors were still locked
All we needed was each other
And we were almost happy with that
But we always wanted something more
And i remeber trying so hard
Trying to pull bars off windows
And trying to bust the locks off doors
But no one would let us free
And just maybe that was how it was suposed to be.
