Milly

My dog Milly is small and quite silly,
As she runs flat out around in circles,
Which makes me feel dizzy.
Her nails make a noise as if she is wearing high heels,
As she poises across on the long timber floors.
I try to dress her up which I enjoy,
But that is a no deal as she runs for the doors.
She loves to go for a long run each day,
With Silo our other dog along beside her on their way,
Sprinting, swimming and chasing things that catch their eye,
Trying to beat each other as it goes by.
Milly likes to think that she is in charge,
Always on duty, watching and listening and then
Lets out her large bark,
But it really just sounds like a squawk.
She knows the commands she is given to do,
The daily routine and all that we have to do,
That fills the day with work, rest and play,
And a treat or two along the way.
When I feel upset, sad or blue,
My little Mill knows just what to do,
And she gets me through.
Milly is a great little mate who misses us terribly when we are away.
At the gate when we return, jumping, dancing, smiling, doing lots of turns.
She just can’t wait for snuggles and cuddles and to be held very tight,
And would love to stay on my bed all through the night,
Until morning light.
