Once Lost Hope

All alone my darkness binds me,
can I save what hope lingers.
Depression, my harsh reality, destroying me,
our love draining through my fingers.
I feel like I'm drowning,
without you by my side.
But I relise the day is still dawning,
and I haven't lost all my pride.
There is a light from above,
I see my freedom from this pit.
Like the hope received from a shining white dove,
I am ready to fly, not just wallow and sit.
