On the fields of battle, innocent lives lost,
The weight of a rifle laying on every man’s shoulder,
Unblemished blood is spilt with all to pay the cost,
A friend lost forever as a rifle is .. Aimed and a trigger pulled,
As the enemy line nears I prepare for death to capture me,
A bullet is fired, I feel an agony in my side as a wound is entrenched in me,
I fall to the mud; I make my final silent plea,
A black shadow passes over my eyes; I take my final breath,
I see a light, it is not like an ordinary light as it had no source,
Where it was coming from, was unknown,
My friends, my family all gone but violence no more nor force.
